Project undertaken to convert previous non-SGML mark-up to TEI-conformant SGML.
The text was converted by using Omnipage OCR. The document was then tagged using a pseudo SGML markup scheme for use with the Searcher, a local text retrieval client. The current version of this text has been converted to full SGML, and complies with the TEI DTD.

The DIV1 element marks the introduction in the FRONT of the text and each of the fifteen books in the BODY. The DIV2 element marks the stories within the books. The N attribute in DIV1 signifies the book number, while the TYPE carries a value of BOOK. The TYPE attribute in DIV2 carries a value of STORY.
The EMPH element marks the passages which are emphasized in the text..
The P element marks paragraph breaks. The PB element marks page breaks with the N attribute marking the page number.
The characters' speeches are marked with the Q element with the attribute WHO carrying the value of the name of the speaker.
